To our Valued Clients:
In response to the evolving situation regarding the spread of COVID-19, we are taking steps to prevent person to person spread within our hospital.
We have instituted a scheduled, specific protocol for cleaning common use areas. It evolves daily with the change in recommendations.
We have asked our staff to be aware of respiratory symptoms and stay home if they are sick.
We would like to extend that request to you, our clients.
If you are in quarantine, have traveled to areas of concern, or have respiratory symptoms, please try to arrange for someone without symptoms to bring your pet to the hospital. We are happy to take in patients and call you for information and permission for treatment.
We have always answered calls from clients asking advice on appropriate times to come in. We will continue to offer that service and welcome your calls for advice on the urgency of your pet's problem.
For prescription and food pick up, we would like you to call into the office and we will bring your pet food or prescription to the car to decrease lobby traffic. This may take a little more time during a busy time or if an emergency is taking place, but we'd like to offer this as an alternative to coming into the lobby. We will begin on Sunday, March 15.
In regard to pet risk and infection,
"Infectious disease experts and multiple international and domestic human and animal health organizations agree there is no evidence at this point to indicate that pets can spread COVID-19 to other animals, including people."
This is directly quoted from the American Veterinary Medical Association Website.
More details about the pet that tested "weak positive" in Hong Kong are available at AVMA.org.
Thank you for your consideration and concern. Our goal is to be here for you and your pets. Please call us if you have any questions.
